Restaurant Spotlight: Cabin Club

Hospitality Restaurants celebrates 30 years in Northeast Ohio.  With eight award-winning restaurants stretching between Westlake to Hudson, suburban Akron to downtown Cleveland, the “HR” team now marches into its fourth decade of providing an upscale dining experience to its loyal patrons.  Company founders and lifelong best friends, Kay Ameen and George Schindler, made short work of deciding how to best commemorate the organizations’ success.  Says Schindler, “We are so grateful for the support that the communities we serve have given us over the years.  As we humbly look back on our success, we wanted to do something especially meaningful and knew that there was no better way to celebrate than to give back.”  That said, January’s 30th Anniversary celebration will be highlighted by the company donating $1,000 for 30 days to 30 charities.

Cabin Club is where Hospitality Restaurants started in 1991.  Over that time, it has become a Cleveland institution, consistently named the West Side’s favorite steakhouse and one of the best in Northeast Ohio in Cleveland Magazine’s annual Silver Spoons reader’s poll.  Located in Westlake, this historic timber-framed log cabin, once a private hunting lodge, dates back to World War II. Cabin Club is known for its upscale, yet laid-back atmosphere and is famous for its exceptionally attentive service and a loyal following of patrons that embrace it as a second home. Thick juicy steaks, the absolute freshest seafood, and an award-winning wine list make Cabin Club the perfect spot for any business or social occasion.

To say that General Manager, Sheri Wilber, knows the Cabin Club “like the back of her hand” is an understatement.  As a young bartender, Sheri was part of the opening team.  She quickly became the smiling face the Cabin Club’s faithful loyal patrons knew well.  As her two young boys grew older, she took on expanded responsibilities at work eventually running the restaurant.  The years may have passed, but her love for the business and her sense of hospitality has done nothing but grow.
