Hospitality Restaurants Mourns the Loss of Founding Partner George Schindler — An Icon in Cleveland Hospitality

Hospitality Restaurants is deeply saddened to announce the passing of George Schindler, founding partner, visionary leader, and one of the most respected figures in Cleveland’s hospitality industry.

For more than three decades, George Schindler helped define what hospitality means in Northeast Ohio. As a co-founder of Hospitality Restaurants, his leadership and heart were instrumental in building some of the region’s most beloved dining destinations — places that became part of the fabric of their communities.

“George was our North Star,” said Chris Kneeland, Managing Partner of Hospitality Restaurants. “He showed us what true hospitality looks like — not just in how we serve guests, but in how we treat people. His wisdom, generosity, and kindness will forever guide this company. Because of George, we know the difference between simply running restaurants and building a family that takes care of people”.

Throughout his career, George was known for his passion for great food, genuine service, and his belief that success comes from doing the right thing, the right way, every day. His legacy is seen not only in the restaurants he helped create but in the countless lives he influenced — from employees and partners to guests who became friends.

While Hospitality Restaurants mourns the loss of its founding partner, the company remains steadfast in honoring George’s values — integrity, warmth, and community. His presence will continue to be felt in every dining room, every kitchen, and every act of hospitality shared across all HR locations.

Cleveland has lost a legend, and Hospitality Restaurants has lost a founder and family member. But his legacy — built on family, friendship, and the belief that great hospitality can make the world a little better — will endure forever.
